For Thursdays Case Swap episode I covered the Chernobyl Disaster and all the weird occurrences surrounding it.

The Event

On the 26 April 1986. The Chernobyl workers were preparing to conduct a safety test. In the preparation of the test, the workers decreased the reactor power when all of a sudden the power output dropped to near zero. This put the reactor in a very unstable position but the workers were unaware of how dangerous this was due to information about the reactors being withheld to them due to all this the workers went ahead which caused a nuclear shutdown. But due to a design flaw, the reactor was prime to the explosion. The Cire of the reactor melted and two more explosions occurred and the reactor building was destroyed/. But immediately after that, an open-air tractor fire occurred. Overall from the fallout and the initial explosion 31 people died due to negligence bad design and cutting corners.

Theories Relating to the Disaster

Black Bird of Chernobyl

A large black bird that looked as if it was half man and the half-bird was appearing to the Chernobyl workers in the days prior to the disaster. It is thought that he was three to warn the workers of a disaster. But what if it was Mothman.

Aliens

A man named Mikhail Varitsky who was a first-hand witness claimed to have seen a fiery ball of light hovering over the reactor. Could the aliens have been helping to contain the disaster or did they cause it?

Cover up by the SSR

The Russians built a device called the woodpecker which was designed to detect missiles before they were launched but the Arora Aborialis interfered with it so it no longer worked. But this device cost 133 million Australian dollars so instead of the russians having to admit they spent that much on a device that didn't work they let Chernobyl go into fallout as at the time they eidnt know it could be as big a disaster as it was.
